In south Louisiana you don't always need a foundation specialist to tell you that you have foundation problems. The soil conditions vary on your property, preventing some pilings from reaching the point of refusal. Piling failure occurs because the pilings aren't driven deep enough. This can cause the house to tilt over time, causing structural damage to the foundation.
Look for some the warning signs.
· Cracks in the interior walls
· Sticking doors
· Sloping/uneven floors
· Cracks along the outside of the house, on mortar joints in the brick
· Caulk joints that are pulling apart
· House is leaning
Routines may vary with each locations needs. In most cases, the majority of the work can be completed outside and underneath the house. Normally, one of our superintendents will require access to take elevations the day the house is raised. In Jefferson Parish, the code requires that the gas meter be removed on the day the house is raise, and reconnected after your plumber completes a test on the lines.
We will arrive on site as prearranged and ready to work. Normally you can expect to see the delivery of the equipment and material to job site and set up procedure. Replace wood members with treated material. Record elevation before and after leveling. Dig and tunnel existing foundations. Excavate dirt. Install new segmental precast pilings. Backfill with excavated dirt or for additional charge dirt will be removed and backfilled with river sand
